Melanie Szlucha
Melanie grew up in Owego, NY. She received her BS in Management with a minor in Literary and Musical Arts, as well as an MBA from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. She entered the field of Orchestra Management and held a variety of positions at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Garde Arts Center in New London, CT. Currently she is Vice President at Competitrack, a market research firm based in Long Island City, NY as a financial services advertising analyst.

She has extensive public speaking experience ranging from training groups of telemarketers about the upcoming symphony orchestra season to making pre-performance remarks to a theater of 1200 patrons. Melanie has been a member of Toastmasters International since 2000. Melanie also owns her own company Red Inc., specializing in preparing applicants for job interviews to enable them to answer virtually any question with confidence and poise.

As President of Red Inc., Melanie has coached numerous job seekers and presenters to become more confident and prepared. She has also used her background in marketing to help small businesses redesign and rewrite their marketing pieces to make them more effective.

Whether it's a one-on-one presentation in an interview, in front of a group, or developing a printed marketing piece that speaks to your potential customers, Melanie has the experience and knowledge to help.


Using her 10+ years of experience as a hiring manager, and 3 years' experience as a job interview coach she tells her clients:

  • What an employer is looking for,
  • Whether they're bringing those points across in their resume or interview, and
  • How to improve their resume and interview technique to guarantee that they feel confident and prepared for the interview.


She draws upon her 7 years of experience as a presenter to:

  • Work with clients to identify and enhance their presentation style so they feel comfortable in front of a group.
  • Define their message (including WHO's in the audience, the WHAT's of their expectations of a presenter and a presenter's expectations of them, as well as HOW to best craft a message to bring everything together.)

She's got marketing experience to help clients rewrite and refocus their marketing pieces to attract more customers and retain their attention. Her MBA is in Business and Marketing and she has 5 years of experience working in the marketing department of several performing arts organizations.

Her diverse client list includes Arts organizations, the owner of a real estate listing company, and the president of a coal gasification financing company. Melanie is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Toastmasters International, and the American College Counseling Association. Melanie is also a moderator for the website CareerCube.net and has been quoted as a career expert in several articles appearing on Monster.com.
